Important Update 25.03.2020: Due to the the recent COVID-19 update, we have tried to be as amicable as possible whilst still ensuring our company stays afloat in these difficult times. As you will be aware, The Cancellation fees below are legally binding and failure to adhere would usually result in further action.
However, As of this morning, we have made the decision to relax all fees in a way that benefits the client going forward. Any cancellation fee that is paid prior to the event date will now be transferred and used as credit on a future booking prior to 31.03.2020. I hope this helps and stay safe!
Important update 25.03.2021: As the COVID-19 regulations and goalposts surrounding entertainment move backwards and forwards, there is no clear pattern or plan that we are able to adhere to. This is making the business increasingly difficult to balance and move forward with and almost impossible to operate and survive.
The world is fully aware that we are in an ever changing landscape and having borne the burden of an financial repercussions for the past 12 months, we have sadly taken the decision to re-implement all our cancellations fees in order to survive. Please bear this in mind when booking our services. The cancellation fees are back in place to ensure our survival and to ensure that we can adhere to all the new restrictions and extreme sanitation that we have to follow.
Please ensure you are fully aware of the cancellation fees and the consequences before proceeding to book. Self isolation or positive testing will now attract a cancellation fee as all contracts are subject to Force majeure.

No further compensation will be paid irrespective of any loss of earnings or additional expenses incurred as a result of the hire. Delivery fees are also not covered by our pro-rata reduction policy.
The client is responsible for ensuring that suitable security and crowd control measures are in place prior to the start of the event. This includes the safe provision of Generator fencing and hoarding etc. we provide the entertainment only unless our services as supervisors/ event managers are provided. Full guidance and safe operation sheets can be provided in advance should you require. If no guidance is requested it will be presumed that you are aware of the HSE requirements and as such we will not accept any liability for loss or damage.
It is also worth noting that all generators left without a member of our staff will require refuelling by yourselves, please make you have adequate provision for this on site
Pro rata reductions & refunds are also limited to the specific items at fault, not the package as a whole. This includes generator failure being limited to the cost of the generator only, not the items being powered by it. If this causes any concerns, please be sure to book backup generators from us at a highly subsidised rate (see generator section for details) CLICK HERE
Pro rata refunds on overnight hires are from the party start time until 7am the following day calculated
Please remember that when booking for large events the generator can be a key part of the whole function. Whilst our generators are serviced regularly and well maintained, Generators are just as likely to cause power issues as a standard 240volt power supply power cut for example.
The most common generator failure is due to allowing the generator to run out of fuel and not being able to start it again, please ensure all generators are topped up at regular intervals throughout the event.
As such, we strongly advise having back up power on site. Back up generators can be hired from us at a drastically reduced rate and this is strongly advised, please contact us for details.
The price of the backup generator varies so please contact us prior to your event for details and suggestions.
we must stress that all generators are provided on the basis that the client will be providing sufficient cover/ hoarding to protect users from the generator. We merely provide a generator hire and basic training.
Fuel must also be taken receipt of by 1 point of contact and we advise that it must be locked securely away from users at any point.
Liability & Insurance
8.1. The company’s liability insurance covers the use of the equipment only. Not the participants themselves. You as a hirer must ensure that you have adequate insurance to cover your guests. We would recommend FML insurance or Leisure Insure for these services, However, please consult with your own insurers as you may still be covered under your existing policy.
8.2. The client agrees to indemnify the company for any damage or theft of the company’s equipment whilst on hire. All responsibility is down to the client themselves, ie the person who hired the inflatable. Standard insurance does not include theft of goods on hire.
8.3. The company accept no liability for any damage or loss of personal property and or any injury arising from the use of the hired equipment. All responsibility is down to the client themselves.
8.4. Any equipment booked on ‘dry hire’ is not covered by the company’s insurance policy and the client is responsible for suitable insurance cover. All responsibility is down to the client themselves.
8.5. Despite carrying 5 million pounds public liability & 5 million pound product liability insurance, However, every organisation will require a different level of cover so please feel free to download our insurance policy which can be found by clicking the health & safety tab at the top of this page or for further explanation please feel free to speak to one of our event coordinators. Should you wish to take additional insurance to cover any gaps between our insurance and yours. Please be aware that this is most likely to occur at the end of May and at the beginning of June. If this presents an issue, please contact us in good time for confirmation. If in serious doubt then it may be a good idea to contact your own insurers. Please also feel free to contact our insurance direct for verbal confirmation of our policy. Raw Bolting, Drilling & Anchoring:
9.1. When securing inflatables into hard surfaces such as tarmac, concrete and other bulk surfaces we use a drill & Rawbolt system, This requires us to physically drill through your hard surface and install temporary anchors to the surface. This WILL leave a permanent small hole. We will not be held liable for any damage caused and you agree at the time if booking that this is the case. BOLTS WILL NOT BE FILLED IN. Please ensure you have the correct mastic to suit your service. If you have, our staff will be happy to help.

Please ensure you have the correct mastic to suit your service. If you have, If you have, our staff will be happy to help fill the surface in.
Our anchorage methods include 200mm long raw bolts on hard standing areas & 380mm anchor stakes on grassed areas and as such we request a minimum clearance of 500mm underground. BOLTS WILL NOT BE FILLED IN UNLESS REQUESTED & THERE WILL BE A SMALL CHARGE. Please ensure you have the correct mastic to suit your service. If you have, our staff will be happy to help fill the surface in.
Should you be in any doubt, please contact us in advance and we can arrange for a site survey to be undertaken by a certified engineer. This will attract an extra cost but well worth the fee to ensure the day runs smoothly.
PLEASE NOTE; We are unable to accommodate drilling and bolting on surfaces such as flags, flagging, Block paving and other similar surfaces as the bolting will only bolt the inflatable to the single flag or block we drill to and result in the majorally insufficient anchorage. Each anchor point must be able to withstand 167kg by law, with mots inflatables featuring between 6 and 30 anchor points. In these situations, we will require several 1,000 litre water bails or several 1 Tonne builders sandbags as ballast delivered to site in advance. Please call us to discuss your requirements and this is a major safety concern.
ALSO PLEASE NOTE: We are only able to drill into private property owned by the hirer. WE WILL NOT DRILL INTO ANY 3RD PARTY PROPERTY, INCLUDING COUNCIL PROPERTY. Any unauthorised drilling will be the responsibility of the client at all times. It will be presumed that all land in which we are requested to drill into has the full permission of the landowner. We have no way of tracking this and as such, all liability will solely be down to the client at all times.
We can set up our equipment on hard standing but we must be advised of this at the time of booking to ensure we bring the correct anchorage
Problems & Complaints;
10.1. In the event that you are unhappy with our services, please contact the office as soon as you can after delivery has been made, either by telephone or by email during the event or at the time of the problem. Problems are much more difficult to resolve after an event has passed especially when we haven’t been given the opportunity to put things right on the day.
Reporting an incident after an event can make a complaint very difficult to deal with although we will do our best to put things right.
Please remember that on booking and hiring any of our equipment you are entering into a non-disclosure agreement and as such, any form of slander or discussion on the internet whilst a complaint is being dealt with in places such as goggle, facebook or any other internet or social media sites is not allowed. infringements may result in legal action or an invoice for deformation to the value of £500 per infringement.
In addition to the above, should you resort to social media, we will cease all communications.
Complaints raised must be done so in writing. whilst we are happy to discuss this via telephone amicably, all official correspondence will be issued in writing to keep an accurate and true record for both parties.
All complaints are treated as an official complaint from day one and all complaints are directed to Mrs Samantha Smith who will deal with your complaint swiftly and efficiently.
Mrs Smith can be contacted on our company email address.
Any complaints directed to our director Mr Lee Scott will be investigated and drafted by Mrs Smith.
Mr Scott does not have an active role within our company on a day-to-day basis and as such only visits our premises on an ad hoc basis.
Any insistence for Mr Scott to deal with your complaint may result in delays up to 3 months. in the event that Mr Scott does pick up your complaint it was still be drafted and addressed by Mrs Smith for Mr Scotts approval only.
10.2 Refusal of collection: In the rare event that you are unhappy with your entertainment for whatever reason, there is no valid reason for holding our equipment to ransom. In the event that a customer does hold an item to ransom, we will have no option to contact the police. Withholding equipment from is is a criminal offence despite whether or not you are happy with our service.
10.3. Staffing; All our inflatables attractions require 2 supervisors per entrance/ Exit to be present at all times to ensure maximum safety.
This staff can be provided by ourselves, yourselves or a mixture of both. Please note that our staff are in place to supervise the equipment only. Our staff are not babysitters and are in no way responsible for the organisation, safety and well-being of the participants or their property.
In some cases an operator is required by law or we feel passing the responsibility of supervision onto the hirer is not acceptable and as such we will staff the equipment for you. This will be indicated in the main headings by the words – Includes STAFF.
All inflatables must be supervised by at least 2 responsible adults at all time per exit and entrance at all time. Please ensure these adults have adequate insurance in place and suitable experience. Should you not wish to take the risk, we can provide suitable insured staff on request at an extra cost. We must also insist that there is one member of staff in place to monitor bad weather conditions, with attention to the Beaufort Scale. Information regarding this can be found at the following link on the met offices website. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/marine/guide/beaufortscale.html
All entertainment must be supervised by at least 2 responsible adults at all time.
Please ensure these adults have adequate insurance in place and suitable experience. Should you not wish to take the risk, we can provide suitable insured staff on request but please bear in mind staffing does come with its own inherent reliability issues. When booking STAFF please ensure our staff is a luxury and not a necessity & NOT the only staff on the day. Our staff are merely an extra to facilitate your own staff. In the event that our own staff are unwell or unable to attend the event for any reason, No compensation will be offered or awarded for lack of attendance other than a refund of that particular staffing fee paid. Castle Capers Limited will not be held liable for any knock on effects and Do not rely solely on our staff under any circumstances.
10.4 Health & Safety: We are very particular when it comes to health and safety, however, as a company we follow the guidance set out by the HSE as standard. Not private company policies which can often be clouded. What is required by law and what you may think are often 2 completely different entities? Please email us in advance of your event should you require a copy of our staff training records, risk assessment, method statement, Insurances, environmental policy and other documents. For further health and safety advice. Please CLICK HERE. Please do not contact on the day of your event as we are extremely handing on and are usually on site ourselves to ensure everything runs smoothly where access to documents is not always possible.
10.5: We are able to supply risk assessments for use with your own requirements. All our risk assessments are re titled for the appropriate equipment, however, they are a generic risk assessment and will need re-drafting by yourself at the installation location. It is impossible to cater for all instances without seeing the site and we must insist that you do carry out your own risk assessment using the form we provide as a guide only. We are able to carry out a full site survey and tailored risk assessment for you at an additional cost ranging from £220+ delivery. DO NOT USE OUR STANDARD RISK ASSESSMENT IN ITS NATURAL FORM.
Please also see our Health and safety pages direct by clicking on the link tab above. Whilst we do not participate in the Pipa Scheme directly due to it not encompassing our entire entertainment stock, For added assurance, Our Director is on the panel of the PIPA Inspection Body/ Leadership PLG scheme who regulate the industry. Pipa tested inflatables are available from £200+vat per item should they be required at your event. Please contact us for details.
10.6; Adverse weather conditions: Please bear in mind that all our items are weather sensitive. Our policy is that we will turn up regardless of the weather conditions and install the equipment as agreed and will not breach our contract with yourselves, However safety is paramount and although items may be installed they may not be suitable for use during some conditions such as wind, rain and other potentially dangerous factors. We will not compromise on safety and our decision is final, regardless of the loss of revenue or expense on your part. Please note that our service is to provide the goods to you as promised, we cannot and will not be held responsible for the weather on the day. No reduction is our fees will be offered. We will help where we can on site to find an alternative location or alternative equipment, However, this must all occur in your allocated time slot (usually 15-30 minutes)
We will not accept responsibility for any loss of revenue or additional expenses as a result of the weather. NO items are to be used in wet weather and above a windspeed of MAW.
10.7; Hot Weather: Where the weather is particularly hot during summer months and heat waves, for example, The fabric of castles and mats gets very, very hot in the sun. Make sure the children are wearing socks so as not to burn the soles of their feet. Have a shade erected or position the inflatable so the sun is not shining directly into the castle. Remember our erectors will not know your hot spots during the intended hire period so please let them know on delivery and they will be happy to help.
Do not be tempted to dowse the inflatable in water as this will cool the castle very temporarily but then cause the rays to be magnified under the sun’s rays.
If the inflatable does get too hot, Please ensure no one uses the inflatable to reduce the risk of burns to children’s skin. Please remember to use care and caution at all times in hot weather and call for guidance if required. Please do not let children use the inflatable if the weather is too hot.

12.9.Although most of the entertainment on our website does not require our staff members, they still do require adult supervision at all times, most inflatable items require 2 members of staff at all times. This does not have to be one of our staff members but please ensure a supervisor is available at all time for maximum safety & maximum fun.
12.10. Supervision: All inflatables must be supervised by at least 2 responsible adults at all time. Please ensure these adults have adequate insurance in place and suitable experience. Should you not wish to take the risk, we can provide suitable insured staff on request. Whilst we do have adult units, these units still attract a weight limit of 12 stone for maximum efficiency and safety.
12.11. Grass surfaces. All inflatables must not be erected on recently treated grass as the chemical will damage the inflatables and potentially ruin the grassed area too. Please also be aware that grassed areas will become discoloured very quickly after inflation due to lack of sunlight and PVC reaction. This can occur after as quickly as 12 hours after delivery and the effect will last for upto 12 weeks. This is completely normal.
12.12. Disclaimer: Whilst we endeavour to deliver all of our entertainment on time and in good condition, On extremely rare occasions things don’t always go as planned due to circumstances out of control.
12.13. Other notes; As you will be aware our company offers an overnight hire service which sometimes requires us to collect items from the previous hire just before delivering it to your venue. In extreme cases, we sometimes find that the entertainment is wet or dirty and may have to be wiped over and/or dried out once we reach your venue so please ensure you have allowed plenty of time for us to carry out these duties before your party starts. We usually recommend 2hrs just in case.
In addition to this, we very occasionally find that the entertainment has been damaged and unreported by the previous hirer and as such we may have to (without warning) substitute your entertainment for something similar to ensure that we don’t let you down on the day.
Notwithstanding the above, our staff will work tirelessly until the equipment is satisfactory and endeavour to keep you updated. Should you still not find the equipment to be satisfactory, you still have the right to refuse delivery on the day r request a substitution, however, our drivers keep a very tight schedule and all requests must be made prior to the driver leaving the site.
Also please note: ALL delivery and collection times are approximate, so again, please ensure you allow plenty of time before your party start & finish time (We usually recommend 2hrs just in case.)

Should you still not find the equipment to be satisfactory, you still have the right to refuse delivery on the day or request a substitution, however, our drivers keep a very tight schedule and all requests must be made prior to the driver leaving the site.
Please do not book with Castle Capers Limited unless you agree to be bound by these terms & conditions above.
